Which type of space?
Hall: the best protection, usually with power, lighting and cameras, but the most expensive – CHF 150 to 250 a month. Barn or stable: dry and covered at a farm, often without power, CHF 80 to 150. Carport: protects from snow, hail and sun, CHF 100 to 150. Underground garage: only if the entrance is high enough – most are under 2.5 m, so only vans fit. Will my vehicle fit?
The most common disappointment at a viewing is the gate. A motorhome is 2.9 to 3.3 m tall, more with a roof air conditioner or satellite dish. Gates under 3.3 m rule out most low-profile and overcab models. Add length with bike rack, width with mirrors and weight for the access road. Year-round or winter storage
If you use the motorhome all year you need a permanent space with monthly notice. If you do not drive from October to April you want winter storage: covered, dry, at a seasonal flat rate. Covered winter spaces are taken by November in many regions – search early.
