Place me
Place me: the stopover app that needs no app store
Where are you staying tonight, and does your motorhome fit there? Place me runs in the browser – free, no account – and sits on your home screen like an app.
What Place me does
Add your vehicle, see “fits”
Enter length, height and weight once – every place shows “fits”, “tight” or “doesn’t fit”. Without an account the profile stays in your browser for a year; with an account it is on all your devices.
Legality light with source
Allowed, tolerated or forbidden – by the rule of the canton or country, with source and check date. Official stopovers, campsites and farms are always green.
Night weather
Minimum temperature, wind and rain for the coming night (6 pm to 8 am) from MET Norway – with frost warning.
Only those who were there can rate
“Were you there?” – open, full, closed or gone. Every place shows when someone last confirmed it.
Saved places
Save places with the heart – as a guest in this browser, with an account on all your devices.
Map with 76'527 places
Stopovers, campsites, motorhome-friendly car parks and service stations in 43 European countries – from Switzerland to Norway, from Portugal to Turkey – from OpenStreetMap. Filters: legal, fits me, free, power, water, dump station, dogs.
Route in one tap
Allow location access, tap “Near me” and open the route to the place directly in Google Maps.
Add to home screen
Place me then starts like an app – with its own icon and without the browser bar. It is a web app: no download, no update, always current.

Frequently asked questions
What does Place me cost?+
Nothing. Place me is free – no subscription, no ads, no commission. Hosts list their places for free as well.
Do I need an account?+
No. Vehicle profile and saved places stay in your browser without an account. With an account you have both on all your devices, and we carry over your guest list when you sign in.
Where do the places and rules come from?+
Places come from OpenStreetMap (ODbL); the community keeps them current with check-ins. The light’s rules come from laws, authorities and associations – every rule names its source and check date.
Is Place me in the App Store?+
No, deliberately not: Place me is a web app. With “Add to Home Screen” you get an icon like an app, without download and without updates.
Where are you staying tonight?
Where you’ll be welcome, whether your vehicle fits, how cold the night will be. Free, no booking.
