The light applies to car parks and community places. Official stopovers, campsites and farms are always allowed – staying overnight is what they are for.
In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina camping outside campsites is banned, while Republika Srpska has no such ban. Camping means staying in a tent, caravan or other equipment suitable for accommodation in the open air, and the fine is 50 to 500 KM, roughly 26 to 256 euros (Zakon o ugostiteljskoj djelatnosti FBiH Art. 40 and 69).
