Can I sleep in my motorhome? National rule Ireland Tolerated
The light applies to car parks and community places. Official stopovers, campsites and farms are always allowed – staying overnight is what they are for.
There is no nationwide ban, but every local authority can prohibit parking motorhomes across whole areas, hence the many "No Overnight Parking" signs. A motorhome counts as a "temporary dwelling", breaching such an order is an offence and on a repeat conviction the vehicle can be forfeited (Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act 1948, s. 31).
