Can I sleep in my motorhome? Rule for TR-68 Tolerated

The light applies to car parks and community places. Official stopovers, campsites and farms are always allowed – staying overnight is what they are for.

Turkey has no nationwide law on overnighting in a camper, and sleeping inside a closed vehicle in a signposted car park counts as parking. An awning or extended levelling jacks turn it into camping, outside built-up areas parking on the carriageway is prohibited (Highway Traffic Law No. 2918, Art. 59) and Istanbul bans campers outside official caravan parks (circular of 04.09.2025).

The information comes from OpenStreetMap and from campers. Check signs and bans on site – the light is guidance, not legal advice. Caraplace accepts no liability for accuracy or currency; you stay at your own risk.
